Read up on our in-person upcoming July monthly meeting with a ward compost solution building effort, a new environmental education resource for children, and more!
This is our monthly pre-meeting general newsletter. We hope to see you at our 7/13 HYBRID meeting. This will be our first back in person event since 2020 and we hope to see you there, at 6018N Kenmore. There will be a virtual option and we will be prioritizing the in-person meeting. At the meeting, the main topics will be ongoing relationship building with the 48th Ward office. We'll provide updates in our meetings and communications. Then we will be facilitating a compost solutions building workshop; the goal is to provide solutions on how to accomplish a ward-wide composting program. We need compost experts and passionate people there, so please come if this is you! Additionally, we will be giving updates from the coalitions of Save Our Ash, Decarbonization, and Water for All - plus on our 2023 campaigns. We look forward to seeing you soon! Our monthly meetings take place at 6:30 PM every second Thursday of the month, and they are all posted on the Events webpage. Our next meeting will take place on 7/13 from 6:30-8pm at 6018N Kenmore and Zoom. Join Zoom Meeting https://us06web.zoom.us/j/7639616511 Meeting ID: 763 961 6511 +13126266799,,7639616511#

Friends of the Edgewater Library EEC Resource list The Edgewater Library is supporting EEC with environmental education resources for children. Friends of the Edgewater Library have started a community engagement initiative with local groups/organizations to promote the Edgewater Branch Library and offer value to the partnering groups. The objective is to support EEC's important work by providing a list of books that will educate youngsters about the environment. The idea for this initiative is to stimulate the interest of children in protecting our planet. At the below button is a list of children’s books about the environment that are available through the Chicago Public Library. By no means is this an exhaustive list; rather it’s a sampling that might spark further interest! Please know about the library, visit it, and take out some of the suggested titles! This will promote environmental awareness at an early age and get kids to explore the library and read. EEC will also have copies of this resource at our events and on the website.

Edgewater's Monday Market is Back, Bigger & Better Than Ever! Mondays 3-7pm. This year’s bigger and better Monday Market has made its grand return to the Broadway Armory, 5917 N. Broadway. The highly anticipated farmers market now has double the number of vendors and takes up the entire parking lot. Last week’s opening day was one of our highest attended openings! The addition of a seating area gives residents the opportunity to sit back and listen to music while enjoying their market finds. EEC will be there 7/10 and 7/24 so come say hi!
